Protective clothing againt liquid chemicals (limited protection)

EN 13034 specifies requirements for limited performance chemical protective clothing, designed for situations where low risk of exposure to liquid chemicals exists. These garments provide partial or full-body protection against light splashes or sprays of liquid chemicals, but not against continuous liquid contact or pressurized jets.

Garment Types

  • Type 6: Full-body protective clothing for light spray or splashes of liquid chemicals.
  • PB [6]: Partial body protection (e.g., aprons, sleeves, hoods) for localized protection.

Performance Requirements

  • Resistance to liquid penetration under low-pressure spray conditions.
  • Seam strength and integrity to prevent leakage.
  • Material chemical resistance tested according to EN ISO 6529.
  • Design requirements to ensure coverage and minimize risk of liquid ingress at closures and interfaces.
