EN 17358-2

UV Protection

This standard specifies the requirements for classification and labeling of garments that provide the wearer with UVA and UVB protection with an Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) greater than 40.

All fabrics offer some level of sun protection, and the risk of sunburn depends largely on the fabric’s thickness and structure. This standard indicates that the garment provides high protection.

The test method for determining UV protection is EN 13758-1.
